This is a vintage RARE Little Black Popeye Alarm Clock by. The clock is in working condition. This is an awesome piece of Black Americana. The clock was made by. DOEHLER and shows its age.

It is likely from the 1930s. 1 1/2" x 4" W x 5 1/4 high. I cannot 100% confirm this is an original authentic Little Black Popeye clock created by DOEHLER or if it is a fantasy folk art piece made by someone.

I can also tell you that DOEHLER clocks in themselves are rare and valuable pieces, and hard to find in this condition of this age, especially in working condition. Also DOEHLER did make Black Americana clocks depicting such scenes on the clock faces. I just don't know about this one for sure. It is still valuable regardless.

Condition Details: The clock shows its age with tarnish, some small rust spots and paint chipping to the metal portion. The face of the clock appears to be slightly yellowed from age, but the graphics of black Popeye are still good. Sometimes you have to give it a little shake after you wind it to get it going. The alarm also works but it does sound a little weak when it goes off. Please see description and pictures for full details.
