Vintage Black Americana Mammy Pappy Polka Dot Salt and Pepper Shakers JAPAN. This is a true vintage salt & pepper shaker set of Black Americana Memorabilia here NOT reproduction. This RARE pair of Vintage Black Americana Memorabilia salt and pepper shakers are from the 1940s-1950s and because of their large size are a range set. We have only seen this pair in the collector books. One shaker is a Mammy and she measures nearly 6 inches tall and she is wearing a pink dress with a white apron tied in back with a bow. She has on her head a kerchief with dark red/purple polka dots and holds a spoon in one hand and the other hand rests on her hip. Mammy shaker has 4 pour holes.

The other shaker is a Pappy/Chef and he measures nearly. 6 inches tall and he wears dark blue pants and dark green top with a white apron and white cooks hat on his head.

He holds a spoon in one hand and the other hand rests in his pocket. Pappy has 5 pour holes. Both shakers retain their cork stoppers and are marked on the bottom HANDPAINTED JAPAN. Both shakers have lovely faces with large expressive eyes and features. These shakers are in Excellent vintage condition with NO chips, NO cracks , and the mild crazing we love on a true vintage item.

Shakers would make a wonderful addition to a collection. These shakers are vintage, very rare, and special and have been lovingly cared for over the years in a collectors cabinet. We have many more vintage and rare Black Americana collectibles in our store.
