Very Rare Uncle Toms Cabin 4 Children Stowe Slavery Helped To Start CIVIL War

I ALWAYS HAVE a great selection - - and PLEASE. To see my son's old books. Although this book was adapted for children. I did find the "n" word in it, as it is in ALL Uncle Tom's books.

So, for the person that reported this item - you will upsetting a lot of ebayers if you start banning classic books; I do not use that word, nor do I promote the use of that word or anything hateful, harmful, or bigotry, I was just giving buyers the heads up of the word as I would edit it if I was reading it to a child! This book was originally written 168 years ago when that word was used, we can not go back in time and change history, we can only learn from past mistakes and strive to do better!

It does have its title page. Uncle Tom's Cabin for children.

Harriet Beecher Stowe, adapted by Helen Ring Robinson. Size = 11" x 8" with 195 pages. Hard cardboard with printed picture on the front with a little cut-out so you can view uncle tom inside his cabin-which is the picture on the title page; back is plain tan, pictures on the back sides of the covers as well. 39 illustrations -some full page.

Uncle Tom's Cabin, is an anti-slavery novel by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Originally published in 1852, the novel had a profound effect on attitudes toward African Americans and slavery in the U.

And is said to have "helped lay the groundwork for the Civil War". The impact attributed to the book is great, reinforced by a story that when Abraham Lincoln met Stowe at the start of the Civil War. Lincoln declared, So this is the little lady who started this great war. Photos carefully as they are part of the description. All of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees.

Boards - very secure, some typical wear, front bottom tip is a bit bent. Back cover - some, what I would call light, scratches-no bad stains though. Textblock - pages very secure. Spine ends - both are worn [took a picture of the top end, but the bottom looks about the same]. Pages - generally very clean for a kids book, a few small spots and some staining from age.

Rips /folds - last page has the wee tip top corner missing- this is apx half an inch by 1.5// a few other small rips, some have been repaired with doc. Tape, some light folding throughout. Not too bad though for a 111 year old kid's book. Other - when posted, there were no other original copies online, just re-prints!

Please Add me to your Favorites list. AND check back now and then to see what's new! If you have trouble, contact me. And remember -this book is very old and may have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke] - I have found that dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference! As far as I can tell -this book has no bad smell.

LIFE IS SHORT -and there are better things to do, feel free to copy my text if it saves you time!
