Sixth 1/6 Plate Daguerreotype Dag Named Portrait Painting Asenath Nichols Turner. Case hinge split as shown. I don't have background information other than the slip of paper shown that was with the case (I picked this up at a local antique show). I'm assuming the subject history typed on the paper slip describes the subject but I have no way of verifying the accuracy or relevance. Oxidation as shown under cover glass.

Some very fine finish scratches on the dag surface (I didn't open the case, I know not to do that with a dag).
