Obviously the number taken was small to start with given the cost of photography, etc. And many of these did not survive over the years. AND THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT AND NICER THAN MOST. This one is no newer than 1880 - 1890 or so.
Standard cabinet photo size and dimensions. This format was common at the time. Would make a great gift for the collectors in your family.
This came with a collection of a number of early photos of African American subjects. Some are cabinet photos, identified with photographer names, and all from various towns in Mississippi. I expect this one is also by a photographer in the state of Mississippi. This one has no photographer name on it. The item "RARE Studio Cabinet Photo, 3 African American Men, Teachers, 1880, Mississippi" is in sale since Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
