Rare Incredible Face African American Boy & Dog Black History Tintype Photo

His face is lit beautifully. He has a hat and a hand on the plinth. Notice the way hes dressed. A plaid necktie adorned with a gold pin.

And then theres the fashionable ankle-high boots. The dog fades into the background a bit, and I wondered whether it was real. But one look at the paws, especially the rear legs, and I knew it was.

It has all the mannerisms of a real dog, including the way it sits patiently next to its best friend. Approximately 3 3/4 x 2 3/8 inches. Black lines, denoting loss of emulsion, correspond with the bends. Excellent contrast to the boy. Average contrast to the dog.
