THE GENTLEMEN ARE DRESSED IN FIRST PERIOD 19TH CENTURY CLOTHING AND ARE RIDING THEIR HORSES. NEXT TO THEM ARE THREE WOMAN WEARING FANCY CLOTHES AND HATS.
WALKING WITH THE WOMEN IS A DARK SKINNED WOMAN, WHICH IS PROBABLY THEIR HOUSE SLAVE. SHE IS WEARING A PLAIN BROWN DRESS. ALONG SIDE IS THE FAMILY DOG.THEY ARE ALL ON A COUNTRY DIRT ROAD NEAR WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TALL MILE MARKER AND A RAIL FENCE. GREAT DETAIL AND WONDERFUL COLORS. The surface is old and grungy and has not been cleaned.
The detail is extremely nice. THE PIECE IS UNFRAMED AND IS ON A PIECE OF BEVEL CUT SOUTHERN PINE. 5 3/4" across and 4" tall. Minor losses to the paint as seen. Please see photos for further detail.
