Original Photo Woman Black / African American Sharecropper Cotton Arkansas
On offer here is an ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF A WOMAN WHO APPEARS TO BE PICKING COTTON AS A SHARECROPPER. The photo measures 2.75 in x 4.5 in. The image has a corner break and obvious old creasing and hairlines indicative of having been likely kept in a wallet or purse? Before it was mounted in a photo album. There is extra paper backing from the old mounting on the rear of the image. The photo came from a photo album with people who descended from relatives who originated in Arkansas. (this is related to the two other lots we have that came from the similar albums as the Montana African-American Baseball / Football images we have on offer).

The woman is standing in a field holding what appears to be a bale of cotton on her head. Based on her slightly better dress, the period of the photo, we can safely assume she is working a cotton field as a sharecropper.

Given the ancestors of the album came from people originating from Arkadelphia, Arkansas (or Clark County generally), we are assuming this is a strong possibility for the photo. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Cultures & Ethnicities\Black Americana\Photos". The seller is "bibliomonster" and is located in this country: US.
