Original vintage c1963 printed poster / broadside issued by the NAACP Voter Education Project (VEP) very good+ overall with light wear along margins and small stain at right edge 8.5" x 11". Between 1962 and 1964, the Voter Education Project (VEP) sponsored 129 voter campaigns and registered approximately 688,000 Black southerners all before the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The VEP not only helped with registration, but it also collected data from across eleven southern states to document disenfranchisement. The VEP coordinated the voter registration campaigns of five civil rights groups, including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the NAACP, the Congress of Racial Equality, and the National Urban League, under the auspices of the Southern Regional Council (SRC), a non-profit research organization.
