AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY TINTYPE and PHOTO GROUP c1900 - 1920's. GROUP OF 4 PHOTOS AND 2 TINTYPES OF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY FROM THE c1900 - 1920's.
THIS 100 + YEAR OLD GROUP IS NOT IN THE BEST CONDITION. I STRONGLY FELT THEY WERE WORTH SAVING FOR HISTORY'S SAKE. The first 3 tintypes have a ripple type finish either used to avoid finger prints or caused from repeated exposure to heat in a hot environment like an attic in the summer. (1) 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" Photo shows two African American ladies posing with a lady in her 80's-90's sitting with a cane in the center, likely a slave in her earlier days before the civil war. (Condition very good)(Very Good focus with good contrast)(c1920's). (1) 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" Photo shows the African American women proprietor of her road side restaurant with a sign on the fence stating; OLD NA , Fresh Fruit, Custard, Ham, Ice Soda, Hot Coffee + Cake. (Condition fine) (Very good focus + contrast). (1) 1/16 Plate tintype photo shows African American man with hat. (Condition fine) (Very good focus and contrast). (1) 1/16 Plate tintype photo shows same African American man with out hat.(1) 1/16 Plate tintype photo shows African American women with hair bun. (1) 1/16 Plate tintype photo shows African American women wearing a badge. (Condition poor)(Fair focus and contrast).
