Old Antique Vtg Ca 1920s Folk Art Wooden Airplane Whirligig Ford Tri Motor Nice

This offering is for an antique circa 1920's to 30's wooden airplane whirligig. The maker did a wonderful job of design in making the gig look almost exactly like a 1920's Ford Tri Motor Airplane. The airplane features three propeller mounted engines and a great strut system supporting the landing gear. The width across the wings tip to tip is 23.5" and the length end to end is 21". There is a brass tube mounted on the underside to allow for mounting outdoors on a rod and it looks like the gig spent quite a long time exposed to the elements. There original silver and black paint is quite nice but has a lot of wear and loss to the top of the wing and tail from being outdoors. There is wonderful oxidation to the wood where the bolts hold the props on and a beautiful properly worn surface overall.

The condition of the plane is excellent with no breaks, cracks or repairs and a pleasant mellow surface.
