====== "VINTAGE / CLASSIC" ======. Live Recordings Of Songs And Sayings.

From The Freedom Movement In The Deep South. Compiled by: Alan Ribback (journalist) and others.

"THE COMPLETE TEXT PLUS BACKGROUND NOTES". WAS SPECIALLY PREPARED TO ACCOMPANY THE RECORD ALBUM. AND AFTER 45 YEARS SINCE ITS RELEASE...

A collection of live recordings from the Civil Rights movement. At a peak time: 1963 and 1964. "Truly captures the flavor of the South during the mid'60s". A collection of inspired moments have been chosen from mass meetings, sermons.

Rallies, demonstrations and individual interviews from the protest period. Of the mid-sixties when racial violence was still dominantly displayed in the south. Many of the recordings took place at times of heightened emotion.

When the community was filled with fear, exhilaration, or defiance. There was something special about the'60s. Civil rights and voting rights legislation formally eliminated state-sanctioned segregation.

In the South, ushering in a new feeling of pride, dignity and awareness. Some organizations emphasized interracial co-operation and unified political action. While others became increasingly convinced that it was necessary.

For blacks to take control over their own struggle. The call of "black power" alienated some and frightened many others. But the moment's timing proved right for blacks. To shift from a conciliatory mode into a far more active posture. The black power wing and its companion black arts/cultural nationalist movement.

Called for blacks to resolve their own problems by developing their businesses. Taking pride in their heritage and improving the quality of life in their communities. Is about a total community. Its shared dreams and common demands.

It is about the power of a people. That monumental struggle (heard on this record).

Was used as the sound track for the Martin Luther King Documentary Film. Perfectly exemplifies the mood of the times. Our system is based on a conversative. We will note obvious flaws and defects. Supplemented when necessary with additional remarks.

In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression. Of the visual conditions observed. Regardless of value and age, the grading does not change.

WE DO NOT PLAY GRADE. We are unable to play grade the vinyl listings. We expect the record to have the same play grade as described. In the popular "Record Grading System(s)" available on the Internet. ORIGINAL PRESSING, NOT A REISSUE!

Original luster, clean, shiny gloss, no: gouges, warps. Minor surface wear: scratches, sleeve scuffs, hairline scratches.

No finger-felt scratches, no warping, spindle hole not misshapen. Clean, shows practically no wear.

Top edge wear (4 split), other sides perfect. Note: It is recommended that inner liner sleeves be replaced. To minimize any further damage they can cause. We will note "company" inner sleeves. "A fantastic record and time document".
