Large PICKANINNY BRAND Peanuts Tin - Black Americana. This very large Pickaninny Brand, Jumbo Salted Peanuts tin is approximately 9 1/2 inches tall, with a diameter of 8 1/4 inches. It show some minor fading, some chipped paint, and a few dents that may be pushed out from the inside. The bottom has several intentionally made holes from being used as a sifter at some stage. All these can be seen in my many photos. PLEASE NOTE that some of the dark patches on the right side of the tin are shadows cast by an object overhead. I believe that the tin was produced sometime between 1900 and 1915. The piece has great impact and an appealing presence that can be appreciated from any distance.
