LARGE CARVED Antique MARDI GRAS Statue BLACK AMERICANA Cigar Store Indian Style

Large - 4' 9 Tall. It came with no provenance or documentation to establish its age, but I would have to venture it's late 19th century or early 20th. The sculpture is unsigned, or at least the signature has been lost to time due to loss of paint in areas, but it's clearly the work of a true artist.

BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO FOR A CLOSER LOOK. Here you have my best good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind, though, that vintage/antique items always show their age -- Don't we all!

-- so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that's not mentioned, simply because it would be impossible to disclose every detail about every paint chip, etc. Gorgeous AS-FOUND, UNRESTORED original antique condition. In fact, he looks a bit dusty because I have NOT meddled with the surface whatsoever -- not even to pass a rag over it! YES, IT HAS CONDITION ISSUES AND NEEDS CONSERVATION, but it also presents fabulously just as it is.
