Willie Nash was born in Ashville, North Carolina on February 22, 1937. He received a BA degree in art from North Carolina Central University. He also served as a field representative for the North Carolina Cultural Arts Coalition. Willie Nash was one of the first artists to paint pictures of African American sororities and fraternities. In the nineteen-eighties and nineties Nash traveled to the national conventions of many sororities to sell his mini reproduction prints of their sororities.

Nash was a well known artist throughout the eastern United States and exhibited his art at galleries, college museums and regional museums. He is best known for his.
