ANTIQUE CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH OF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN HOLDING A RIFLE. Hes in a studio setting with classical motif. His eyes look up, as though he's on the hunt for birds.

He holds the shotgun aloft so we can see it. The photographer did a nice job of framing it. Note the hay on the floor. Perhaps the gallery owner didnt want to work too hard, and so didnt spread it around. An expert informed me this is a PUMP SHOTGUN and possibly an ITHACA.

At bottom of mount: Whipple and Co 6219 WENTWORTH AVE. Ink handwriting on the back identifies the man as S. One wonders how he ended up getting his picture taken in Chicago.

Approximately 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. Scuffing, which is more apparent when tilted. Mount: Wear at top corners.
