Exceptional Mid 1800s Black Americana Bronze Hammered Door Knocker

This is a one of a kind blacksmith made bronze door knocker. It features the face of an African American, possibly a slave? The owner did not know the origin of the item besides telling us that it had always been in the family back to her grandfathers days and possibly before. Diameter of item is 4.5. Diameter of ring in his mouth is 3.5. Total length of item is 6.

Also has original small round knob to knock the ring against. I can not find another example of this or anything like this anywhere.
