Delcroix Framed French Quarter Photo Laffites Blacksmith Shop. It was done by the famous French portrait photographer of New Orleans named Eugene A. I'm pretty sure this is an original/licensed reprint of some sort. It is sealed in this frame and I don't want to break the seal. I know it's pretty old and looks like other of his photos with the labeling and font at the bottom that have gone for sale on other online auctions. This was bought in New Orleans a long time ago. I don't exactly know it's history though other than that.
From what I know Laffite's Blacksmith Shop is the oldest bar in New Orleans. This was taken by Lacroix probably from his independent work after the 30's. He worked for a couple firms before that. The photo looks like it's printed on the whiteboard.
The whiteboard has some discoloration at the bottom corners and at the top. It looks like from whatever chemicals they used to make it as it looks brushed on at the top. I'm not an art dealer so this is all mostly my speculation and little research on the internet. I mostly sell records on here but either way I think this is a great find if you're into photography, Americana, the South, and/or New Orleans history.
