Cased Sixth Plate Bride & Groom Tintype Civil War Era Wedding Portrait

Wonderful wedding portrait featuring a bride in her gown, and the groom in a three-piece suit and black kid leather gloves, C. Measures approximately 3 3/16" x 2 11/16", which corrrsonds with a sixth plate image format. When the image is removed from the case, a lock of brown hair (with some gray) was found - likely a memorial for the spouse that died. The image is housed in a half-case with a brass ring for hanging. The image remains in good condition, showing signs of age and wear.
