Calamity Jane VTG Unpublished Photo Autograph Rare Wild West Hickok Deadwood

This is a rare opportunity to own an original, unpublished photograph of Martha Jane Burke, the married name of Martha Canary, aka Calamity Jane. This photo is mounted on cardboard measuring 5x5 inches and is autographed/identified on the back, "Martha Jane Burke". I do not know if it is in Calamity's hand, since she may have been illiterate and may not have been able to write her name, but it is possible.

The photo has a pinhole in the top of the cardboard indicating it had been displayed. The use of her married name suggests the photo was taken between 1885 and 1903 and was owned by someone who knew her. Burke is posing on a horse and her signature hat is visible, as well as her revolver. Creased corner of the cardboard in top right, does not affect photo. This item was in a group of several Civil War and historic early 1900s photos and documents from Missouri.
