C. 1890 Cabinet Card TWO WELL-DRESSED BLACK BOYS & FRIEND After Johnstown Flood
This is an albumen photographic print. A cabinet card 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 inches. Photo itself is 4-3/4 x 7-1/2 inches. Note that the white margin is not selvage but a rectangle of white paper, now toned with age to ivory, on which the photo is mounted and which itself is mounted onto the gray Bristol card. A phenomenal subject, said by the person I acquired this from to depict the aftermath of the 1898 Johnstown flood, and showing two well-dressed Black young men in knickerbocker style talking to a white boy. In the background are destroyed buildings.
The Bristol card has curved very slightly with age. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Photographic Images\Photographs". The seller is "patrocino" and is located in this country: US.
