1860's Thomas Elkins tintype published by Abbott of Albany. Elkins served in the Civil War for the 54th and 55th Massachusetts Infantry as a medical examiner. The 54th was featured in the classic movie Glory. The 55th served alongside the 54th. Elkins was an inventor along with being a doctor.

One of his many inventions was the refrigerator. Tintype is about 2 by 4 inch.
