Here for your consideration is an absolutely fabulous, most incredible, circa 1850. BLACK AMERICANA, COPPER TOBACCO JAR. Its base has a very ornate, intricate design, while the top features the head of a SMILING BLACK MAN, who. Is SMOKING a CIGAR and is encircled by tobacco leaves.

This extraordinary piece of very early tobacciana, measures 6 1/2 inches in height to the top of the mans head and 8 inches in width, measuring from handle to handle. The copper has oxidized over its long life and there are some dents on the bottom, that arent visible from the front. What stories it could tell us, if only it could talk!
