Gertrude Manly Jones (fl 1890's) was a poet and musican, largely known today for Negro dialect songs for which she gained her reputation as an arthor. She was an active patron of the arts, founding Lesche Club, one of the earliest women's club in Georgia, as well as a promoter of education and progress of women.
Aside her prose and poetry, she was a popular writer of hymns, her text including Some Other Day and Marching On. Please See All Photos For More Details.
