This is the real deal - whether the story that this was part of the Underground Railway is true or not, this came from a pre-Civil War house on the Underground Railway in Bergen County, New Jersey and is now residing in St. Mary's - Black Rock - Bridgeport. Cast iron, all original except for stainless steel bolts securing the base (the originals rusted out and had to be replaced)original paint, with original ring.
