Army's Regiment of Mounted Rifles and the Army's "Dragoon" Regiments; it was in service during the Civil War, and overall only from 1848 to 1865. Fantastic image - man is wearing chaps and gunbelt, and has a knife in a sheath tucked into the belt next to the gun. Photographer is FLOWERDAY in BAKER CITY, OREGON. On the back is written "Uncle Tom".
