This 1800's African American Black Americana Crayon Enlargement Double Portrait Photographic "Crayon Portraits, " or "Solar Enlargement" photographic prints, were most popular in the mid to late 19th Century and their use carried on until the early 1900s. The enlarged image often had details that were lost or blurred and for that reason were "touched up" with hand-applied media like chalk, charcoal or wax crayon.
