Crafted from pine, it features dovetailed and square nail construction with original hinges and lock (with key) and a SUPERB original wallpaper interior with the following pencil inscription, Made in 1865 for Reverend Samuel Grunendike of Chili NY. The box is sturdy and usable with old repair (screws) to the wood near one hinge. I think it needs oil.
