I learned this ring is rare and dates back to about 1920. I bought it at a garage sale many years ago because it looked "Deco". Later, I discovered that beneath the transparent stone can be read printing that "changed". In black print on red is "100 %".
Below that within a white circle window appears in black "USA" or "KKK" depending how the ring is tapped or titled. The ring is fashioned from a single square wire curled four times and fastening at top around sort of a floral shape. Looks like it is gold-plated metal. At top, held within a metal frame, is a rectangular bevel-cut relatively clear amber stone or celluloid, 3-4" by 7/16" x 1/8 high. On the underside of frame is embossed "Patent Applied For". It measures as a size 6. I haven't tried to clean this item. I hope the several photos can give you an accurate picture of it.
