Please scroll down under this description for 33 additional views. Late 19th century antique cast iron andirons known as Mammy & Mose. Each figure is 16" tall and measure 10" across the base. The iron support arms are each marked "18" which happens to be their length.
There is extremely nice detail in the casting of the figures right down to the watch chain and fob worn by Mose as part of his formal attire. The toe portion of Mammy's right foot is missing- this really wouldn't be a difficult repair to replace it since the toe portion of her shoe is a pretty simple shape to replicate. There is surface rust on the figures and easels but no damage to the iron. We are happy to combine wins in one package when we can.
