Antique Bryant Studio JOHN SWARTZ'African American Men's Group' Ft Worth PHOTO
ORIGINAL BRYANT STUDIO FT WORTH TEXAS PHOTOGRAPH OF A GROUP OF AFRICAN AMERICAN GENTLEMEN. This is just a great original piece. I recently acquired a collection of photographs from important African American photographer Calvin Littlejohn.

Littlejohn was known for his important work documenting African American life in San Antonio Texas in the mid 20th Century. This is a photograph I have been researching for a while. There is a lot to it.

First off, it is a wonderful image of an African American Men's Group. Image measures 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches and is in very good condition.

A few very small scuffs but nothing too bad. The men are all wearing the same ribbon but I cannot read any of them so I dont know what the group is. The photograph is on its original cabinet card. In the lower left corner of the card is the stamp of Bryant Studio 705 1/2 Main Street Fort Worth, Texas'.

This is what led me into the research. First, that address was known to be the studio of the Swartz Brothers, the famous early photographers of Fort Worth Texas. Then as I dug deep into their history I learned that they were known to advertise heavily in the African American papers to court their business. Seems exactly in line with the timing of this photograph and is most probably from right around that period of time and is most likely a photograph by John Swartz. Original mount card measures 12 x 13 3/4 inches. CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS GREAT PIECE. If you have any questions regarding the work, please dont hesitate to ask. Pictures are an excellent indication of condition. I guarantee and stand 100% behind everything I sell. No reason to open up any sort of cases. Just simply contact me and I will handle any and all problems. This item is in the category "Art\Art Photographs".

The seller is "pmfeld" and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped worldwide.
