I thought the same thing when I first saw this antique Folk Art Framed Pictures of two well dress Black Men. I know there are some unscrupulous people who are constructing fake Black Americana Art. That said, the handmade frame measures 20" wide by 15 ½" tall at the center. The corners and top crest are painted black and there are lead-foil accents at the corners and at the middle of the frame.

The finely crazed surface is original and the only problem is some wear to the foil and an old worn chip to the upper left hand corner. Framed under early thin handmade glass the two black Americana figures measure 9 ¼" tall by approximately 5" wide. The shirt and cuffs are made from stiff paper and are accented with tiny glass bead buttons and handmade cufflinks.

The legs, hands and head are cut from felt. The jackets are made from old cloth and the cloth coat on the right hand gentlemen has some moth damage. This is the only problem and there have never been any restorations..
