African American Black Child Possibly Blind In Beautiful Scenic Tintype Photo
We don't know if this youngster is blind or not. His or her eyes are only slightly open and he or she holds a stick; although often such sticks are merely walking sticks. There's a big white collar on the dress, and we can see the boots, one in the usual position and the other tucked under the other leg. While the child is by a typical bent wood gate, there's a painted lake behind with mountains beyond that. We assume the child is a boy because of the short-cropped hair, although depending on the circumstances, girls could have short hair, too.
Approximately 3 1/2 x 2 3/8 inches.
