A Rare Pair of historic 9" x 13" W. Parke stamped and dated 1914 photo prints with descriptive back notations. Parke was a well known fixture photographer for the fledgling days of Rocky Mountains National Park and the town of Estes Park.
You have a couple of wonderful examples of his work. I have been able to locate another surviving copy of the Mt. Ypsilon from the Old High Drive Road in the archives of the Estes Park museum, But have yet to see or find another surviving example of the Long's Peak Inn at Foot of Long's Peak photo. Both photographs carry Parke's dated corner stamp showing the prints were made in 1914.
A verso notation suggests the Long's Peak Inn photo was taken circa 1909 and I would assume a similar date for the Mt. Parke's death as being in 1924. In any case a wonderful original pair of fantastic photos pertaining to the magnificent Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park's Mt. Ypsilon, of which you can be sure few if any surviving examples exist. With o real originals out there to compare for pricing, I really don't know fair market value outside of comparisons to other great American landscape photographers.
