1940s OCCUPIED JAPAN ALPS TAP DANCER WIND UP ORIGINAL BOX & KEY BLACK AMERICANA. This classic Americana toy is fantastic and accompanied with the highly sought after original box. The tap dancer is standing on Lenox and 125. Street corner in New York City, Harlem District this tin is in very good condition red jacket little rubs in fabric, small stain front pants top right. Other than that he appears very good.

This toy has fantastic action with sound! This classic tin toy was tested and WORKS when activated he moves his feet as if dancing and his arms move around in a circle. As he dances he makes a delightful tap dancing sound and his cane goes around in his hand for eye catching amazement. The Tap Dancer himself has a celluloid face has NO cracks or dents his yellow hat is also perfect!

The street sign is removable so it can go into the box properly. The box for this toy is very clean, with wonderful detail and graphics of the Tap Dancer in action! The box reads ALPS MADE IN JAPAN PATENT NO. Box looks very good and very solid looks like old store stock condition box top has small professional tear repair to side flap and corner - very difficult to see!

Tears and damage to box bottom! Height = 8 ¼ (ground to sign post) 6 ½ (figure hat to feet).

Width = 4 ¼ (sign to sign). Length = 3 ½ (back of stand to outstretched hand). Height = 7 ¼ (lid top to bottom).
