1930s WPA Alabama Primitive Folk Art Black Americana Dolls
1930s WPA Alabama Primitive Folk Art Black Americana Dolls. Came from a local estate with tons of antiques, primitives and folk art. The dolls appear to be wire and cotton underneath. The man still has one foot attached to a base.

The man stands about 9" tall and the mammy stands about 8 5/8". Lots of soiling, fading, holes, and overall wear to the dolls and clothing. Thanks to a fellow ebayer I now know these were produced in the 1930s in Alabama most likely as part of the WPA (Works Progress Administration). The item "1930s WPA Alabama Primitive Folk Art Black Americana Dolls" is in sale since Sunday, December 23, 2018.
