Iconic (seemingly unpublished) shots of arguably the most influential Black newspaper in the country at the time. Dapper young men posed w/ Pittsburgh Courier newspaper bags & sedan, 5 x 7. Heavy wear w/ creases, emulsion flakes and two stabilized (rice starch archival tape) edge tears. Identified July 1939 w/ owner or photographer's name penciled reverse. Staffers waving from a departing convertible, 8 x 10.

Thumb creases, toning to margins & two small circular impressions that affect headlight. Very light emulsion cracking to uneven margins & small chip top left.

Again w/ a penciled name (possibly the first's husband). Worthy of expert research, Charles Teenie Harris joined the paper as principal photographer in this same year (1939). Both entirely unsigned other than the former owners marks.
