A single photo extracted from a MASSIVE ESTATE in Clearwater Florida. This is the only one of this image that we found in the estate. If you like Boy Scout photos, I've got a whole bunch I'm going to be listing over the next few weeks, make sure and follow us! This one is obviously a reprint.
Not sure if George was playing with photographic processes or what here but this band has to be from the 1920s or 1930s based on the directors history, which I've included a portion of here, see the photos. This is printed on an 8 x 10 sheet of glossy paper but the image is a bit smaller than the paper as you can see. There's one small crease in the bottom right hand corner just outside of the image area. This is the only one of this image we found in the estate. Photographer for the city of Clearwater for over half a century.
Also a Navy enlisted photographer during WW2. After cleaning out the residence & studio in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. We hope to Bring recognition to his life's work as well as to find homes for the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. The photographs include everything you would've expected a city photographer to have been present for, from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice, but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of war photographs and film that we were able to save, but it was not much as unfortunately for some reason, he had stored the war photographs outside where they were exposed to the weather, and sadly they had been completely destroyed. The photos that are being offered here were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. This is quite a project for only two curators, so please follow us, and be patient as we slowly unveil the contents of this massive estate. And always, if you see something that you like, please make an offer!
