As a senior at North Greenville Baptist Academy in South Carolina (a school that would eventually become today's North Greenville University). After serving during the war, James V. Barnett went on to become the an assistant postmaster. This is a primary document of an oration given more than a 100 years ago in the south and includes the then-progressive thoughts of a young man about racial issues only 50 years removed from the end of the Civil War. This document is guaranteed to be original and unaltered from Barnett's estate.
