This product is a rare and valuable 1/6 Plate Daguerreotype by the famous photographers, the Meade Bros. It was taken at their 233 Broadway, NY location, according to the address embossed in the velvet inside the case. The portrait depicts a man in a vintage style suit, and is framed in a Union Case. The image is black and white with a metallic finish, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of early photographic techniques. The image is still sealed and the case is complete, including little latch, however it does show some wear and it has split apart along the folding spine (shown in picture).
