One is a Mammy lady and measures approx. 4 1/4 inches and she is wearing a white dress with a very colorful apron that has pinks and blues and she has green trim on the top and a matching green kerchief tied in her hair. She stands with a hand on her hip and holds a spoon in the other hand and she has 3 pour holes.
The other shaker is a Pappy/Chef and measures approx. 4 1/2 inches and he wears a white apron with swirly stripes of blue and pink and has on a blue chefs hat. He too holds a spoon in one hand and he has 4 holes. Both shakers retain their cork stoppers and are marked JAPAN. Shakers have NO chips, NO cracks , minimal age related wear.
Shakers have bright colors and a ch shiny glaze. These shakers are over 60 years old and are from a private collection where they have been lovingly cared for. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find Black Americana items especially in such wonderful condition.
