This incredible pair of early 20th century mechanical boxing figures once graced a penny arcade coin op machine and they show the scars of many bouts. Each measures 12 5/8" tall (add 1/4" for the custom made heavy steel 3 1/2 square display bases) and features nicely cast details well-muscled physiques and a multi-layer paint history that is stable and exhibits lots of loss and wear. The African American pugilists have a chocolate milk-toned complexion and their trunks have good, strong color. They have an illustrious provenance having been included in the inventories of 2 of America's most important Americana dealers of the mid to late 1900's.
