THE SPIRIT OF PRAYER BY HANNAH MORE TO WHICH IS ADDED, PIETAS QUOTIDIANA, OR PRAYERS AND MEDITATIONS FOR EVERY DAY IN THE WEEK, AND OR VARIOUS OCCASIONS. ALSO, HYMNS SUITED TO THE SUBJECTS.

It was published by SWORDS, STANFORD, AND CO. The book has a date of 1833 and measures approximately 4.5" x 3" with 256 pages. In some cases, photos are enlarged to show detail. Please see photos for reference. The leather spine is gone... And someone put tape on the binding. But the pages are in tact and the book is complete. The book is ID'd to CORNELIA WILLIS. Cornelia was married to NATHANIEL PARKER WILLIS, an American author, poet and editor who worked with several notable American writers including Edgar Allan Poe and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

He became the highest-paid magazine writer of his day. For a time, he was the employer of former slave and future writer Harriet Jacobs. CORNELIA WILLIS (to whom the book is ID'd to) was Nathaniel Parker Willis' second wife and 20 years his junior. Harriet Jacobs was an amazing African American writer who escaped slavery and became an abolitionist speaker and reformer. And that's to say the least.
