HUGE NUBIAN SPILL VASE B BLOCH FIGURAL MAJOLICA, ca. 1880's, black americana

This is a large size - 12.5 inches tall - dramatic majolica spill vase in the form of an African Black Man holding a bowl. This one is signed by Austrian maker Bernhard Bloch and is absolutely striking in composition and execution. He has majolica glazes, is in good condition with crisp molding and bright colors - he does have a hairline and very small chip under his right wrist where he is holding the bowl. The photos tell the story and are an important part of the description. It would be a center piece to most any collection.
