I do not know the provenance of the piece, but based on research, it is probably a sign put on former slave plantation building for tourists in the 1950s or 60s. It is a haunting and despicable reminder of a terrible time in American history. I offer it as a collectible and a reminder. It has been on my desk for a couple of years. It is time for it to go.
