Very Rare Chein Black Banjo Player Log Cabin Bank W/ Key c. 1930's, A Lithographed Tin Toy Bank Featuring a Black Banjo Player and Pickaninny Dancer. It is in Near Mint Condition with only Extremely Minimal play / age wear, and with some tape residue on the bottom where the Key was taped to the bottom at one time, I have included Photo's. It was originally founded by Julius Chein in 1903 and was located in a loft in New York City. Chein started with a small line of tin toys and this progressed to an increasingly larger line, and around 1910 to 1915 the company moved into a plant in Harrison, N. They remained in Harrison until 1949 when the company was moved to the location in Burlington, N.Their line of tin toys increased over the years and included some very interesting mechanical wind-up types, such as the Merry Go Round - Still Banks such as the Log Cabin and Mechanical Banks - The Ferris Wheel - The Space Ride.
