ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FRAMED WHOLE PLATE TINTYPE PHOTOGRAPH of a WEALTHY BLACK WOMAN

This large antique framed whole plate tintype photograph of a young black woman is from the estate of a wealthy black Rhode Island family. This beautiful portrait is elaborately matted and framed under glass and is completely original! 6 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches and is in a 14 x 16 inch frame.

This exquisite portrait has a hand painted body and a hand painted background, the face and hair are untouched. The three piece Victorian frame is beautifully gilt on the inside with a faux marble decoration in the middle and the top piece is engraved and painted with a floral design.

The mat is also in three pieces and is elaborately decorated. There is some very minor paint loss to the frame, the photograph is in a FINE STATE OF PRESERVATION!
