Patented in 1875 by J. Stevens Company this antique Cast Iron Mechanical Bank depicts a Blackman standing in Shack.
On the sides are a Banjo, a Griddle, a Varmint Pelt and a Broom. When you move the broom the Blackman flips upwards and kicks the coin at the top into a slot. This mechanism works perfectly and this Bank measures 2 7/8" wide by 4 1/8" deep by 3 3/4 tall. You can see in my photographs that this Cast Iron Mechanical Bank still retains most of its original first paint, however there is some wear to the surface.
There also is a chip to the iron on the upper left front corner of the roof. There are no other problems or any repairs to this 1875 Stevens Cast Iron Blackman Bank and it has been listed without any reserve.
