ALABAMA COON GAME BY J W SPEAR & SONS, LONDON/BAVARIA EARLY 1900s MINSTREL
ALABAMA COON - A JOLLY GAME FOR ANY NUMBER OF PLAYERS. BY J W SPEAR & SONS, LONDON / BAVARIA. This is a vintage minstrel-themed ball toss game that stands upright on it's own. The graphics of the minstrel/negro banjo player are vibrant in color and the condition of the game itself is very good. Please take note that the inside of the mouth area has been neatly marked in pencil with the number 1, and the three holes at the bottom of the game have been marked with the numbers 5, 3, and 7 in pencil (inside the holes). Includes five colored balls made of very lightweight plastic. The pink, yellow, and white balls are fine. The blue and green balls are dented/cracked. Instructions are printed on the inside of the box lid, in English. Game box measures approximately 14" x 9-1/2" x 2. Box lid shows some age-related dirt and the top end of the box lid is missing. Lower right corner of box lid is split.
Box bottom is intact with no split corners, though one corner is slightly bent. This belonged to my father's family and dates to the early 1900s. Omes from a smoke free home.
