It is worn, torn, taped & stained. Johnny Gruelle wrote in this storybook: Beloved Belindy was the mammy of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy and of all the other dolls in the nursery. She was the nicest, fattest, soft rag doll you would ever care to cuddle. And the smile painted on her broad face was as cheery as could be. One just has to be happy, when one wears a happy smile, or else the smile will soon go away.
But when a smile is painted on, it is almost certain never to come off. This antique 1926 Beloved Belindy doll was made by the Georgene Novelties Company and is marked on the back of the head. She wears all of her original clothes, except her white apron, bandanda, red blouse with 4 enamel buttons & white eyelet trim, yellow & red print elasticized waist full-skirt, white pantaloons trimmed with white eyelet trim. Sewn on red/white striped legs & red boot/feet. Nice, condition with a slight tear where the pin is at her front neckline on the blouse, on the back of the blouse & a couple small ones on the front of the blouse under the skirt elastic area & a tiny little glue mark on the front of the blouse. You can check out the photos. She is in very nice, odor free condition. I haven't washed the clothes.
